Greene County is a rural area located in west central Iowa, 60 miles NW of Des Moines. The majority of income is produced from agriculture products: corn, soybeans, cattle, hogs and agricultural related businesses.

The mission of the Greene County Soil & Water Conservation District is to promote the wise use, improvement, and maintenance of the soil, water, and other natural resources in Greene County.
